Introducing our "New" 1954 Owosso Camper - Traveling Tiny Home Away From Home!

A Gem of a Find, but Get Ready for LOTS of work!

I've been on the hunt for a vintage camper trailer we could restore and hit the road in. Our kids are off in college and while we work hard, our schedule is pretty flexible and we really both enjoy the outdoors. So first I had to find the camper, then work on my husband to convince him that this is a project we would use and enjoy for years to come. His sole requirement was that it was small enough to pull behind our Toyota 4 Runner and it looked "cool" so it was worth the work we had to put into it, to meet our budget.

So after literally a year of looking, we stumbled upon this gem and snatched it up quick! It is a RARE, 1954 Owosso 17' camper trailer. All aluminum outside, sort of like a Tin Can version of an Airstream. We both loved it. We bought it from Redenta's Garden Shop in nearby Arlington. The owner couldn't have been nicer and was thrilled it was going to a new home. While it was a major fixer upper, it had great bones and looked "cool"!

So stay tuned as we continue to restore this vintage camper and bring new life to "Owosso". Our goal is to have it all buttoned up for the August National Tiny House Jamboree. We will be showcasing not only our camper restoration project but also marketing our Cordless Lamps for that growing Tiny House Living market. Our cordless, rechargeable lamps are the perfect fit for both Tiny Homes and Traveling Homes too!

Check out my Pinterest inspiration board for the camper below and email us if you have any questions, we are quickly becoming knowledgeable on this whole camper restoration thing!
